The EuroDual Scandinavia is a versatile locomotive designed to operate seamlessly on both electrified and non-electrified lines, offering effortless switching between electric and diesel modes. It supports electrified lines with 15 kV 16.7 Hz and 25 kV 50 Hz systems, delivering a powerful 6,200 kW electric output. For non-electrified routes, the locomotive is equipped with a robust 2.8 MW Stage V CAT C-175 diesel engine, certified for HVO operation, ensuring CO2-neutral performance. This dual-mode capability makes the EuroDual an ideal solution for rail operators seeking flexibility, efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
Engineered to thrive in Scandinavia’s harsh winters, the EuroDual Scandinavia features a comprehensive winter package that guarantees reliable operation in extreme temperatures as low as -40°C. Key enhancements include a larger snowplow, advanced cabin and door insulation, increased heating capacity, specialized snow grids for air vents, and snow brakes for the wheels, making it perfectly suited for severe frost and heavy snowfalls.
