Exclusive interview with Stefan Sachmann from BSAS about his experiences with the EuroDual and collaboration with European Loc Pool

European Loc Pool (ELP) is proud to offer the EuroDual as an innovative and forward-thinking solution for rail freight transport. Stefan Sachmann, Managing Director of BSAS EisenbahnVerkehrs GmbH & Co. KG, has relied on the flexibility and performance of the ELP EuroDual from the very beginning. With this locomotive, his team has successfully established a niche business and taken the company to the next level.
BSAS was among the first companies to lease a EuroDual from ELP to build their own railway transport company. Today, they have three EuroDuals in their fleet. In this interview, Stefan Sachmann shares fascinating insights into his experiences with the EuroDual – from its versatile applicability to the trusting collaboration with ELP.

1. What are your experiences with the EuroDual and its performance in your operations?

“Our experiences with the EuroDuals have been consistently positive. In my more than 25 years of professional experience, I have never encountered a locomotive that was so reliable and powerful right from the start. The EuroDual had virtually no teething problems and impressed us from the very first operation. What is particularly remarkable is how this locomotive, despite its impressive size and mass, operates with such high efficiency and reliability.

The EuroDual is a true innovation in rail freight transport and has made a significant contribution to our success over the past five years.”

2. What advantages or challenges do you see in using the EuroDual in your industry?

“The EuroDual is the perfect locomotive for our business model. It offers us maximum flexibility, as it is fully operational in both diesel and electric mode. This saves us additional vehicle resources and allows us to serve first/last-mile transport or flexibly bypass construction sites. At the same time, we are impressed that the locomotive can haul the same load in diesel mode as in electric mode – without any limitations. This versatility is a crucial advantage for us and our customers, who highly appreciate this flexibility.”

3. What do you value in your collaboration with ELP?

“Our collaboration with ELP is special. As one of the first lessees of the EuroDual, we built our business together with ELP and have grown together ever since. Communication is excellent, and we always find acceptable solutions together.”

Thank you, Stefan Sachmann, for the interview and the long-standing partnership. We greatly appreciate it and look forward to continuing to support you with our solutions in the future. Wishing you safe journeys and continued success!
