Next Generation, on Track and in Sport

ELP presents the third Next Generation Award to Turnfabrik Frauenfeld

Frauenfeld, September 2026

With the Next Generation Award, European Loc Pool specifically recognises clubs affiliated with Sportnetz Frauenfeld that make a sustainable investment in young people and actively help shape the future of youth sports. The award is presented four times a year.

The third award goes to Turnfabrik Frauenfeld, which impressed with its strong commitment to youth development and the targeted development of young gymnasts. As a national artistic gymnastics training centre at Silver level, Turnfabrik provides professional conditions that allow young talents to be supported over the long term and to develop athletically up to national and international level.

Turnfabrik places great emphasis on sustainable and holistic youth development. In addition to athletic progress, the focus is also on the enjoyment of movement, personal development and a supportive environment. Through a variety of programmes for young athletes, children are introduced to gymnastics at an early age and supported according to their individual abilities and goals.

During a ceremonial presentation on site, representatives of ELP and Sportnetz Frauenfeld recognised the club’s outstanding commitment.

Roger Zuber, President of Turnfabrik Frauenfeld, explains:

“Supporting our young talents is a central part of our club’s work. We want to provide young gymnasts with an environment in which they can develop both athletically and personally. The ELP Next Generation Award is a wonderful recognition of this commitment and helps us to continue pursuing this path consistently.”

Hanu Fehr, President of Sportnetz Frauenfeld, also highlighted the importance of clubs such as Turnfabrik:

“Turnfabrik impressively demonstrates what can be achieved through consistent and long-term youth development. Young people are not only given the opportunity to develop athletically, but also experience community, responsibility and team spirit. This is exactly the kind of commitment we want to make visible and support together with ELP.”

For ELP, its commitment to the region is a conscious decision. CEO Willem Goosen explains:

“With the Next Generation Award, we want to support clubs that provide young people with opportunities and invest sustainably in their development. Turnfabrik impressively demonstrates what can be achieved through commitment, perseverance and a clear vision for the next generation. These values also connect sport with our own understanding of long-term and future-oriented action.”

The name of the award was chosen deliberately. With its highly advanced multi-system locomotives, ELP represents a next generation in European rail freight transport. The locomotives combine performance, efficiency and future-readiness on the rails.

As a company based in Frauenfeld, ELP is proud to actively support young people in the region through this initiative and to make a sustainable contribution to local club life.
