HHPI Expands Fleet with a Second Euro9000 from ELP
Long-standing partnership continues to grow: HHPI now operates eleven ELP locomotives

The successful cooperation between European Loc Pool (ELP) and Heavy Haul Power International (HHPI) continues to grow. With the signing of a contract for an additional Euro9000, HHPI’s fleet leased from ELP increases to a total of eleven locomotives. At the same time, this marks the company’s second Euro9000.
HHPI’s renewed decision to lease a locomotive from ELP underlines the long-standing and trusted partnership between the two companies. Over the past years, HHPI has continuously expanded its fleet and today operates a total of nine EuroDual and two Euro9000 locomotives from ELP.
With the second Euro9000, HHPI is adding another state-of-the-art, powerful six-axle locomotive to its existing fleet. The Euro9000 offers up to 9 MW of electric power and a starting tractive effort of up to 500 kN. Two diesel engines with a combined output of approximately 1.9 MW provide additional flexibility for operation on non-electrified sections as well as for shunting and last-mile operations.
The Euro9000 is therefore particularly well suited for demanding freight corridors and heavy-haul operations, offering railway undertakings a high degree of flexibility in cross-border European Rail Freight transport.
The cooperation, which now comprises eleven locomotives, demonstrates the long-term development of the partnership between HHPI and European Loc Pool. In addition to providing modern locomotives, ELP’s Full-Service Leasing concept also includes comprehensive service and maintenance solutions aimed at ensuring high vehicle availability throughout the entire operating period.
