ENON-Group is expanding its fleet with a Euro9000 locomotive from European Loc Pool AG. With the signing of the contract, the company is placing its trust in one of Europe’s most powerful and modern dual-mode locomotives. The Euro9000 will support ENON-Group in making its transport services even more flexible, efficient and powerful in the future.
In a conversation with Mathias Tenisson, Managing Partner of ENON-Group, it became clear that the technical performance, modern equipment and versatile operational capabilities of the Euro9000 were the key factors behind the decision.
“The Euro9000 is currently one of the most powerful and modern dual-mode locomotives in Europe. It is equipped with several country packages, offers a powerful 9 MW electric mode and, with its two 950 kW diesel engines, provides a solution that fits very well into our service portfolio,” says Mathias Tenisson.
The Euro9000 therefore provides the basis for flexible operations on various European routes. At the same time, the locomotive will now have to prove itself in daily operations. Particular focus will be placed on its performance, flexible deployment options and reliability on ENON-Group’s routes.
“For us, the key factors were the high electric power, the multi-system capability and the possibility of serving non-electrified routes without changing locomotives,” Tenisson adds.
Following the positive experience with the EuroDual, the new locomotive will now demonstrate how it performs in daily operations and what additional opportunities it can open up for existing and future customer requirements.
The cooperation between ENON-Group and ELP also forms an important basis for their joint success. After a highly committed start, both companies look ahead with confidence and anticipation to a successful and trust-based partnership. The shared goal is to realise customer-oriented solutions and successfully meet the requirements of modern rail freight transport.
“We are particularly pleased about the trust placed in us by ENON-Group. With the Euro9000, we are bringing a locomotive to the tracks that combines performance, efficiency and flexibility at the highest level. Together, we want to set new standards and demonstrate the potential that modern dual-mode technology offers for the freight transport of tomorrow in Europe,” says Willem Goosen, CEO of European Loc Pool AG.
With the signing of the contract, European Loc Pool once again underlines the growing importance of powerful hybrid and dual-mode locomotives in Europe. The Euro9000 was developed to combine high electric power, flexible diesel support and modern multi-system capability in one locomotive. This provides operators with a future-oriented solution for demanding, cross-border and infrastructurally diverse transport tasks.
