Berlin / Frauenfeld, 4 September 2025
ELP is once again celebrating a significant milestone: on 3 September, the EuroDual 272-4 was handed over to HVLE, marking the entry into service of the 100th locomotive. With the commissioning of the 100th locomotive, another strong signal has been sent for growth, innovation, and efficient, sustainable mobility in the Rail Freight Industry.

What began as a creative idea with a clear vision has become reality: a modern fleet of powerful hybrid locomotives that respond to evolving customer demands and changing market conditions. The 100th locomotive is emblematic of a development moving forward at high speed, driven by the growing demand for longer, heavier trains, and efficient, flexible logistics solutions.
However, this progress would not have been possible without the trust and close cooperation of customers, partners, and employees. With their continuous support, ELP has carefully laid the foundation for its success and remains motivated to continue this path with full commitment.
“The 100th locomotive is far more than just a number for us. It represents the trust our customers place in us and the strength of our strategy and partnerships. Celebrating this milestone together with HVLE, the launch customer of this series, fills us with great pride and joy,” emphasizes Willem Goosen, Co-Founder & CEO of ELP.

With the 100th locomotive, ELP not only makes a technical statement, but also underlines its ambition: expanding the fleet to 200 locomotives in the coming years.
ELP strongly believes in rail transport as a key driver for sustainable logistics solutions in Europe and continues to invest decisively in a strong, innovative, and environmentally friendly future on rail.
ELP extends its thanks to all customers, partners, and employees – together we are shaping the rail freight transport of tomorrow!
The handover on 3 September was introduced with a successful and celebratory test run from Braunschweig to Berlin, which impressively confirmed the EuroDual’s performance. The companies then took the opportunity to duly celebrate the partnership and this joint success at HVLE’s Wustermark site.
